Giuseppe Verdina – Mining Engineer & International Project Director Giuseppe Verdina, PhD, is a mining engineer graduated from the Polytechnic Schools of Milan and Paris. With over 30 years of international experience in mining operations and project leadership, he has contributed to major mining projects across Africa, Europe, and the Americas for junior, intermediate, senior, and multinational companies. He has held strategic positions ranging from mine planner, chief engineer, superintendent, and technical director to general manager and director of international operations. Throughout his career, he has worked with renowned companies on emblematic sites such as Placer Dome Sigma, Falconbridge, Inco, Breakwater Resources, Semafo, Katanga Mining, Nordgold, ArcelorMittal, Global Atomic, and Green Mining Innovation, among many others.

Key Achievements
•Successfully led the Louvicourt shaft sinking with zero accidents or delays.
•Directed the rescue and recovery of Seleine Mine during a catastrophic flooding (27 months, $30M).
•Served 9+ years as Mine Rescue Team Director.
•Founder of the first underground mining school in West Africa.
•Creator of new underground mining methodologies at Guiro Gold Mine.
•Developed the first modular training programs for underground mining in Georgia.
•Advocated for local workforce integration (30% of staff in 1 year).
•Promoted the inclusion of women in mining.
